Pssst....Supermom OUTSOURCES & You Should Too

Okay, mama—let’s be real for a second: You’ve got 3 kids, a full-time job, a husband, a dog, a never-ending to-do list, and oh yeah—the holidays just snuck up on you like a sneaky little elf. Oh, and better news, we have much less time to be jolly between now and the big day.  Sound familiar? Yep, the hustle and bustle of the season is upon us, and it’s easy to feel like there just aren’t enough hours in the day. But guess what? It’s time to take a step back, breathe, and realize that you don’t have to do it all by yourself. You’re a supermom, yes, but girl you've got to delegate!

So, here’s 8 ways to outsource your way to a little peace and calm this holiday season.

1. Holiday Shopping? Bye-Bye, Stress!

Are you done with dragging three kids from store to store? This year, consider using personal shopping services, gift subscription boxes or shopping online.  (Hot take: I hear www.ShopTheCottage.com has some pretty. cute. stuff. this season!) The holidays are about joy, not chaos, so I’ll gladly pay for the convenience of skipping the lines.

2. Meal Prep & Delivery Services

Let’s be honest: Cooking and hosting a holiday meal? It’s a lot. So this year, I’m outsourcing the prep to a meal delivery service. Whether it’s a fully prepped holiday dinner or just the weekly meals, it’s one less thing I have to worry about. And those leftovers? Major win!

3. Cleaning Services for the Win

You know what’s stressful? Trying to keep the house sparkling while making sure everyone is fed, entertained, and ready for the holidays. Enter: a cleaning service. Even just a one-time deep clean can do wonders to bring back a little calm. Plus, no more stressing about that mysterious spot on the carpet when your in-laws show up.

4. Hiring a Pet Sitter for Fido

I love my dog, but let’s be honest—sometimes he’s another thing on the list of “to-dos.” If you’ve got holiday travel or just need a breather, hire a pet sitter to walk your dog or take care of them while you focus on your family and other responsibilities. Fido will be happy, and you’ll have one less thing to juggle.

5. Outsource Holiday Card Prep

You know that holiday card list you’ve been meaning to send out? This year, I’m outsourcing the design and even the sending! There are tons of online services that let you create and send cards directly from your computer. I’ll just upload the family photo, pick the design, and let someone else handle the postage. Genius, right?

6. Hire Help for Holiday Decor

Listen, decorating is fun, but it can also be time-consuming—and let’s face it, I’ve got a whole list of things I’d rather be doing than untangling lights. If you’ve got the budget, you can hire a holiday decor team to deck the halls for you. Or, if that’s a little out of reach, consider just getting a pre-decorated tree or tabletop decorations that are easy to set up.

7. Outsource Wrapping (Yes, Please!)

Wrapping presents can be an absolute time suck. This year, I’m outsourcing my gift wrapping to a local service or online store that offers gift-wrapping. It’s a small cost that saves me hours—and that means more time for snuggling with my family (or taking a nap, let’s be real).

8. Delegate to the Kids (They Can Handle It!)

They might be young, but your kids can help! Assign them simple tasks like decorating the tree, setting the table for family dinners, or even folding towels. Trust me—getting them involved not only helps you out but also makes the holiday season feel more festive for everyone.

So there you have it, mama—by outsourcing a few things this holiday season, you’ll not only save time, but you’ll also bring back a little calm amid the holiday frenzy. The holidays are about joy, and by getting help where you can, you’ll be able to soak in all the magic without the overwhelm.
